Product Details:
- Aromatherapy Unscented Incense Cones
- Made of Pressed Natural Bamboo and Joss Tree Powder
How to Make Incense Cones:
- Incense cones, like the incense sticks are an excellent addition to your product line due to their simplicity in production and a wide array of captivating scents available at Voyageur Soap and Candle.
Ingredients and Tools:
- Mixing Spoon
- Dipropylene Glycol (DPG) - 28g or 1oz
- Essential Oil or Fragrance of choice - 14g or 0.5oz
- Up to 25 unscented incense cones
- Aluminium foil
- Rubber gloves
- Mixing jar
- Baking tray
- Rack for drying
Explanation of DPG:
- DPG minimizes black smoke from burning incense sticks and helps infuse the fragrance into them.
Preparation:
- Lay out unscented incense cones on a large piece of aluminum foil.
- Mix the DPG and Scent Combination together in glass measuring cup for ease of washing or mixing vessel of your choice.
- Pour the mixture evenly over the incense cones, ensuring they are fully coated.
- Wrap the cones tightly with aluminum foil to allow the scent mixture to fully impregnate the cones.
Soaking:
- Allow the wrapped cones to soak for at least 48 hours within your aluminum foil to fully absorb the scent mixture.
48 Hours Later:
- Unwrap the incense cones that have been soaking for the past 48 hours.
- Place a rack on a baking tray and lay out the sticks to dry evenly.
Drying Process:
- The final product needs 2 days to 1 week to fully dry, depending on humidity and whether essential oil or fragrance used. Essential oils will dry faster.
- If your work area has high humidity you can use a dehumidifier to expedite the drying process.
Final Product:
- Once fully dried the incense cones are ready to package for resale or gift giving and are ready for use.
