Bear’s Head (Hericium americanum)

Cousin to the well known Lion’s Mane, Bear’s Head mushrooms produce beautiful coral like structures which are a gourmet delicacy. As with Lion’s Mane, don’t be tempted to allow the “hairs” to grow out too long, while it looks super cool it negatively affects the flavour and shelf life.

Our best seller and fan favourite. Lauded for its medicinal properties and is considered a “natural nootropic”. A very reliable strain that has some serious yields. Don’t be tempted to allow the “hairs” to grow out too long, while it looks super cool it negatively affects the flavour and shelf life.
Chestnut (Pholiota adiposa)
Flavour/texture: Nutty, earthy, crisp
The Chestnut variety is one of the easier advanced fruiting block kits. The first flush yields large beautiful clusters of brownish-red mushrooms. However, it can be trickier to get subsequent flushes, so attempting a second or third flush will require a little extra work and attention.
Blue oyster (Pleurotus ostreatus var. columbinus)
Flavour/texture: Complex, hearty, meaty, earthy
This oyster mushroom variety is the highest yielding strain available and grow large impressive clusters. Depending on the lighting, they can be a vibrant blue colour when young.
